NEC college students helped the seniors from White Birch Center Active Living Program with their fall clean up chores as part of the NEC Serves effort. Thanks NEC!
Yesterday was Teacher Workshop Day at HCS and our WBC Extended Education Program made Strawberry-Banana and Mixed Berry smoothies for snack! They apparently had LOTS of fun making smoothie mustaches!
The Preschool Class is focusing on the letter “I” this week! Today they opened up their very own Ice cream shop for the kids to help with cognitive development. Dramatic play is a huge part of our curriculum everyday. It’s very helpful for fine motor skills as well as creativity, imagination and inventiveness!
Happy Halloween from WBC! Our classrooms celebrated by dressing up in their costumes, parading around our center and ended the day with a fun-filled Halloween Party!
October is National Fire Prevention Month! Henniker Fire Department made a visit to WBC yesterday! The children in all classrooms were able to take a peek inside of their fire trucks and ambulances and ask questions. Fun was had by all!
On Monday, October 21st, Paul Keiner of New England College brought his Bridges to Learning class to visit and volunteer at the White Birch Center After School program. The group of aspiring teachers spent the afternoon playing games, coloring, talking and teaching the children how to play football and soccer. The students of White Birch and New England College equally enjoyed themselves and the new friends they made.
