Remote Learning Program

Overview

The WBC Extended Education Remote Learning Program is designed to help working families with school age children continue working during the 2020/2021 School Year. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, many working parents are concerned about the unpredictable nature of the school year.

This program is available to families who’s school district is fully remote, a hybrid of in school and remote, or if their school district chooses to go remote at any point throughout the school year.

White Birch Center has been operating as an Emergency Child Care Center since June 1, 2020. As an ECCP, we have established thorough policies and procedures that ensure the safety of our families, children, staff and community. We have limited capacity based on rules not allowing more than 20 individuals (children and adults) together in a room. There are also many other changes which you can find below in our Emergency Child Care Parent Handbook. All families attending will be required to review and sign off on several forms that indicate that they understand our policies and procedures.

While we are happy to be providing this Remote Learning Program for our community, we also have had to adjust to new standards for care in the COVID-19 environment and we also need for our parents to adjust their expectations during this pandemic. For example, it is possible that with little notice, the program may need to temporarily close if a child, family member, or staff member has become ill. Procedures such as these will ensure the safety of all involved in our programming.

Our classrooms provide:

A safe and nurturing learning environment, friendly teaching staff, a Certified K-8 Teacher, current First Aid / CPR certified teaching staff, DAILY communication between WBC, your child’s school & your family.

Use of Fever Reducing Medications

Any fever reducing medications (Tylenol, Motrin, etc.) will not be allowed to be administered during care hours. In addition, if Tylenol or Motrin (or any other medication) is given as a fever reducer, your child will not be permitted to attend childcare. If it is given, it will present an ineffective screening tool and one of the few screening tools we have this is independent of the parent or screener. Please do not provide Tylenol or ibuprofen at least 4 to 6 hours prior to arrival at child care.
