Pats Peak Learn to Ski and Ride Program

With winter in full effect, the WBC Kickstart classroom will soon be participating in the Pats Peak Learn to Ski and Ride Program!

The class will meet, have breakfast, and get ready at White Birch, and then take the bus over to Pats Peak. The program consists of hour long lessons beginning Jan. 4, 2022 and will continue every Tuesday until Feb. 1st.

We are excited to engage in a program that provides a fun way for students to learn a new winter sport. Through the process of learning how to ski, students strengthen their problem solving skills, social skills, as well as boost their confidence overall.

Henniker Dentistry Halloween Parade 2021

Every year on the week before Halloween, the Henniker Family Dentistry has a Halloween Spirit Week to celebrate the holiday and get more involved within the Henniker Community. Thursday during Spirit Week is the Halloween Parade and the dentistry invited everyone at White Birch to participate. They also generously offered to donate $10.00 to our organization for every staff member and student that dresses up and takes part.

The morning parade began at the White Birch Center where the smiling faces and colorful costumes of all the students made their way up Hall Avenue towards the dentistry. Upon reaching their destination, the kids and teachers were met by 5 different Halloween stations, goodie bags to fill, and a big game of Freeze Dance. The goodies included a variety of different pre-packaged items like goldfish toothbrushes, applesauce pouches, and halloween stickers!

Thank you Henniker Family Dentistry for supporting The White Birch Center and the Henniker community at large. Community events like Spirit Week and the Halloween Parade not only help support our organization and town, but also provide a wonderful holiday experience for the many children here at White Birch. Happy Halloween!!

Kentucky Derby Party 2021 – CANCELLED

White Birch Center has made the difficult yet, correct, decision to cancel this year’s Kentucky Derby Party. Although we would like nothing more than to have this unique and fun event this year, especially after the trying year we have all experienced, it just simply is not the right thing to do at this time. Planning and preparation for an event such as this takes months. We began planning in January, when it looked as though there was hope that by May 1st, we would be able to hold an in person event. Unfortunately, with COVID numbers trending the way that they are and the recent guidance from Dr. Chan stating to avoid gathering in large groups, it is evident that we are not where we thought we might be by this time. We appreciate all who have purchased tickets and signed up as sponsors. We apologize for the inconvenience and we will be issuing full refunds over the next week.

We now shift our focus to NH Gives 2021. NH Gives is an online day of giving for state of NH Non-Profit organizations and will be occurring on June 8, 2021. Please stay tuned for more information on this day of giving and how you can support White Birch Center with your very own NH Gives Fundraiser!

We apologize for the inconvenience of cancelling this event and we greatly appreciate your continued support of our organization. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!

Thank you,

White Birch Center Administration

Henniker Dentistry Halloween Parade 2020

The Henniker Family Dentistry is having a Spirit Week from 10/26 thru 10/30 and will donate a portion of money to our Center for each patient, hygienist, doctor, etc. that comes through the Dentistry that week, dressed in a costume.

They invited White Birch to come parade down in costume yesterday to the dentistry where they went trick or treating! The dentistry had 5 stations set up in their parking lot. Each station was designated 6 feet or more apart. They passed out all prepackaged items that included goldfishes, toothbrushes, stress balls, applesauce pouches, and stickers!

Henniker Family Dentistry will be donating $10.00 to the White Birch Center for each child or person who wore a costume during the parade yesterday, in addition to anyone coming into the practice dressed in costume throughout the week, will contribute to the total donation!

Thank you Henniker Family Dentistry! White Birch is very appreciative of this generous gift and our children and families thoroughly enjoyed their parade and trick or treat day!

K9 Veterans Day with Officer Daley and Vilo

It was a very exciting and special day here at WBC. Today is K9 Veterans Day! We invited Officer Daley and Vilo of the New London Police Department to visit our center. Officer Daley talked with our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms about Vilo and his work and they even got to see Vilo in action! We finished the visit with a very generous gift from the Pre-K and Preschool classrooms to Vilo to thank him for all that he does for the community. Thank you so much to Officer Daley and Vilo for coming to visit. What a great experience for our children and staff! Happy K9 Veterans Day Vilo – come back and visit again!

Ivory Soap Experiments with Extended Ed.

Have you ever put ivory soap in the microwave? The Extended Education Program conducted this fun science experiment yesterday. Check out the children’s reactions. We wont give away what happens, you’ll just have to try it for yourself. Here’s how: Unwrap a bar of Ivory soap. Place the bar of soap on a paper towel or microwave-safe dish. Microwave your soap for 2 minutes. Watch the soap closely to see what happens. Allow the soap to cool for a minute or two before touching it. Check out https://www.thoughtco.com/ivory-soap-making-foam-in-microwave-606305 to see how it works!

National Read Across America Day at WBC!

March 2nd is National Read Across America Day!
Our Extended Education Program came to visit the Pre-Kindergarten Classroom to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading some of his books together. This was such a huge success that the Extended Education Program plans to come visit and read with our Pre-Kindergarten classroom more frequently! What a great experience it was for all involved!
